Care2 Make a Difference

  Scriptural references.

"The Green Bible" will equip and encourage you to see God's vision for creation and help you engage in the work of healing and sustaining it. This first Bible of its kind includes inspirational essays from key leaders such as N. T. Wright, Barbara Brown Taylor, Brian McLaren, Matthew Sleeth, Pope John Paul II, and Wendell Berry. As you read the scriptures anew, "The Green Bible" will help you see that caring for the earth is not only a calling, but a lifestyle.  Order from Cokesbury  Scroll down page.

CLIMATE CHANGE - What You Can Do - at Home, at the Office, On the Road, at School

EarthShare - EarthShare [with timely news updates] was founded by its member charities in 1988 to connect people to environmental nonprofits through workplace giving, volunteer opportunities, and environmental education.......an update on the demise of plastic bag use

"To help reduce the land-based waste that often contributes to the trash found in our ocean and other waterways, many companies have stopped producing and distributing plastic bags in their stores. Now some cities are enforcing that standard...... Plastic bags and other items like water and soda bottles are very harmful to the environment because they’re not biodegradable. They can leech harmful chemicals into our water sources, potentially causing serious harm to the people and wildlife that rely on these resources. Researchers recently explored the Great Pacific Garbage Patch to see what kind of impact these plastics are having on marine life." http://www.earthshare.org/2009/10/earth-saving-news-october-13-2009.html
