WOMEN  IN  MISSION

The Purpose of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

Connie Hunter, President California-Nevada Conference UMW

[June 14, 2008]

Summer is approaching – and so are the Mission Education Events / Schools of Christian Mission that are sponsored by your Conference United Methodist Women..... It was sixteen years ago that I attended my first School of Christian Mission at Santa Nella.  I signed up for the study on ‘Global Economics’ because I really wanted to sort out the alphabet soup associated with the topic - GATT, WTO, and more.  [more]

[April 15, 2008]

Aloha!  I am still basking in my Hawaii experience, both the time that Tom, my husband, and I spent together on the big island prior to the W. Jurisdiction UMW meeting – and the meeting at the Sheraton Waikiki.  Wow! [more]

[January 2008]

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonder-filled Christmas.
I like this time of the year – not only because of Christmas and the hope that the birth of Christ rekindles in my heart, but also because the New Year follows so quickly on the heels of Christmas, it feels like I have a chance to start all over again. [more]

[October 2007]

Barbara Ward shares her greeting to the CNUMW team with the Conference Units. [more]

[August 2007]

Arise, Shine, and Glorify God..... Here are some of the many ways we were in Mission in our local churches, in our Districts, and in the world. [more]

[June 2007]

Arise! Shine! and Glorify God! continues to be the sounding cry for all United Methodist Women as we seek to carry out the Purpose of United Methodist Women in the California/Nevada Annual Conference.  We are midway through our year together, and our Conference newsletter At the Cutting Edge continues to report on the many ways we are in Mission in our local churches, in our Districts, and in the world.  [more]
